Black Friday on November 25th is every true shopper and bargain hunters dream. Savvy sales hounds will already have pre selected and identified exactly what items they want, where to get them and if they are doing it all on-line, they will have their promo codes at the ready!

So what should you do to avail of the Black Friday bargains and avoid a Black Friday Headache?

1. Make a Plan

The most important part of Black Friday preparationsshould take place the days leading up to Black Friday so that you know exactly what you want to purchase and where the best discount is. This will help you avoid aimless wandering and being sucked into buying items you really didn't want.

2. Start your Shopping Early

Well the early bird does catch the worm so it might be advisable to get into the shops early morning to avoid the madding crowds. If you prefer to avoid the crowds altogher, getting on-line early is also a must, and definitely before the 9am rush! 60% of orders are expected to be made from mobile devices this year, so there is no excuse for missing out! Create your Account the day before if you are shopping on-line or you might be delayed at checkout.

3. Set your Budget

With Discount, Sale and other enticing signs luring you in to buy, it is easy to get carried away because an item is "only........". But all those "onlys..." can add up to a budget busting amount quite quickly if you are not careful, so before you step outside this Black Friday, don't forget to set your Budget and stick to it!!!

4. Ask about the Refund policy before buying

Normally sales items are non refundable, so do check out what happens if you have buyer remorse after your purchase and what comeback will you have if any?

5. Bring a Friend

Also known as divide and conquer, two of you can cover more shops and maybe share 3 for 2 deals which you might not really want if you were on your own. It also means you have a friend to enjoy that well deserved cup of coffee with at the end of a fruitful day.

6. Keep Calm

With all the crowds and long queues, it is easy to get irritable and frustrated. Remember, you are there to bag a bargain, save some money and most importantly buy important gifts for the people you love. So please be kind to your fellow shoppers, we are all there for the same reason and if we all take our time, we will all get there in the end!

The Style Icon team are looking forward to spending our Black Friday at the Showgrounds Shopping Centre, Clonmel and we can't wait to meet all the eager shoppers!

Happy Shopping Style Icons.

Following on from our very popular Style Bootcamp for Teens, we are delighted to offer our first Style Bootcamp for Ladies in the Showgrounds Shopping Centre on Thursday 14th April from 5:30pm - 8:30pm.

With so many new style trends, beauty products and information in the public domain about what we should and should not be doing it is easy to get confused and misguided into doing something we are really not sure is right for us but we are not sure why. I recently had a lovely personal shopping client tell me that "she read somewhere, she should not wear pink as she had pink cheeks and had avoided it like the plague since but really liked the colour". On finishing our colour analysis she saw just how wrong this generalised article was for her and that contrary to this, pink was one of her most flattering colours as it reduced the redness in her complexion and actually lifted and plumped out her cheeks.

Our Style Bootcamp for Ladies aims to help you understand what new trends in beauty, hair and fashion you should follow and the ones to completely avoid. Blush Nails and Makeup will advise on Brows and Foundations and show you how some primers can actually make your foundation run off your face rather than helping it to stay put! (I know this was a relevation to me too!) Top hairstylists from Cathy O Reillys, Deirdre O Sullivan and Deirdre O Connor picked up the hottest trends at the London Hairshow this year and will advice on the right colour and cut trends to suit you. Finally, I will be there with my team to provide expert advice on finding that elusive correct fitting bra, so important to get right if you have a special occassion this Spring / Summer and I will be giving a Masterclass on the Flair, the biggest trend turnaround this season and one that many will sadly get wrong unless they understand who it suits and how to pull it off.

For details or to book your seat for this not to be missed Bootcamp contact us on 087 7926244 or email info@styleicon.ie

With more of an Autumn feel in the air than summer for the last few weeks, it is not surprising that the shops are beginning to fill with Autumn Styles. We are loving the 70s festival vibe of floppy hats, fringing and fur coupled with floaty print fabrics in autumnal tones. But "Colour Alert" RUST is the major colour pop of the new season ahead and is our definitely our top transitional colour must have!

It would seem that many of us are suffering from "Style Winter Blues" since reintroducing our Winter style into the wardrobe. So why is it we feel deflated, bored and dreary as we remove the bright, light clothing of summer and dust down the warmer wears from last year? It is fair to say that the majority of us invest most of our wardrobe spend on our winter wears, but it is also true to say that too many of us are guilty of , what I like to refer to as, STYLE SAMENESS! Style Sameness occurs when we find ourselves repeatedly teaming the same top with the same bottoms, the same accessories and shoes. With repetitive sameness comes boredom and a feeling of being "fed up" with your clothes which affects not only you the wearer, but also for the people who see you wearing the same clothes all the time.

So what is the treatment for Style Sameness? Initally it requires decisive action followed by some planning and just a little creativity to really look at your clothes and see how many different outfits you can make from each item in your wardrobe. Aim to make at least 2 different outfits from each item in your wardrobe, building it up to at least 5 different looks with each item you own. With even the smallest of wardrobes and some creative thinking, you can have a different look for nearly the entire season. But let me warn you, mixing and matching can become addictive and once you get into the new habit of mixing and matching the items in your wardrobe you will never ever suffer from Style Sameness again!!
